Bud Jacobs was a teacher and graphic artist. He earned a bachelor's degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn after returning from service in the US Navy during the Korean War. He completed master's degrees in fine arts and in arts and humanities from SUNY University at Buffalo. According to the obituary by Dale Anderson, "Mr. Jacobs worked in printing and graphic design, then taught drawing and design at UB and at Niagara County Community College (NCCC) until re retired in 2005."
Jacobs was documented in photographs by Michael Mandolfo at the North American New Music Festival in 1987 with composers Yvar Mikhashoff and Paul Goodman, and percussionist Jan Williams. Jacobs designed a floral logo used for the first “June in Buffalo” festival in 1975. The design was used in the Table of Contents for an online exhibition created in 2015 by the State University of New York at Buffalo Music Library based on the 25th anniversary exhibit held there in June 2000. The title (and relevant subject matter) likely refers to the firm Trautman Associates/Architects, Engineers, now located on Franklin Street in Buffalo.
