Anne Mormile

Anne Mormile is an artist based in Cattaraugus, N.Y. She received both a BA in graphic design and a BFA in ceramics from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 2004, and an MFA in ceramics from Edinboro (Penn.) University in 2011. Her work has been exhibited at numerous galleries and art centers throughout Western New York, including Art in Craft Media 2013 at the Burchfield Penney.

In an artist’s statement on her website, Mormile observes, “What attracts me to [clay] is its ability to take on the sharp, concise edges of man-made objects and just as easily merge into the organic softness of the human face.” [1]
