b. 1969
Born and raised in Western New York, Ann PerrySmith has many different ties to the Buffalo arts community. After graduating from Grand Island High School, she then studied at Buffalo State College, receiving her BS in art education and MS in multi-disciplinary studies with a concentration in ceramics. Since 1992 she has been an art teacher at Lancaster High School teaching ceramics, jewelry and studio in art. As an artist, PerrySmith describes herself as “extremely hard working” and “obsessed with attention to detail.” Working mostly with ceramic and clay, it is her distinct attention to detail and the many mental and physical photos she takes that help create and inspire her work. She gives all of her credit to her parents who have built her creativity and inspired her throughout her life. PerrySmith is a Roycroft Master Artisan and lives and works out of Snyder, New York.
