Anita Johnson is an artist who creates oil and acrylic paintings and colored pencil drawings. She was born in Silver Creek, N.Y. and is based in Hamburg, N.Y. She has painted professionally since 1970 and has exhibited her work locally and nationally, in addition to illustrating book covers.
In 2010 she won a Bronze medal from the Buffalo Society of Artists. She is also a past president of the BSA and has been a member since 1970. One of her paintings is in the Buffalo Collection in the Buffalo (N.Y.) City Hall. She is listed in Who's Who in American Art.
Mrs. Johnson has been a docent and volunteer at the Burchfield Penney for more than two decades.
