Andrea Mancuso is a media and installation artist, educator, and arts administrator. A Buffalo, N.Y., native, she received a BA from SUNY Buffalo in 1989 and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1993. She and her collaborator Peter D’Auria have worked together as the duo “virocode” since the 1980s, creating video- and photography-based projects exploring the intersection of art and science. They have exhibited nationally at MOMA (New York City); Pacific Film Archive (Berkeley, Cal.); Diversworks (Houston); Southern Exposure Gallery (San Francisco); and Hallwalls, the Burchfield Penney Art Center, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and CEPA Gallery (Buffalo), as well as in various European video festivals.
Mancuso has taught in the art department at Nichols School since 1999.
