James G. Pappas (b. 1937)

In 1968, Pappas, Anderson, Scott, Godfrey, and Franklin, along with fellow artist Donald Watkins organized the exhibition Six from the City at the University at Buffalo’s Norton Hall. The exhibition of their works, which was also shown in a storefront at 1408 Jefferson Ave., was a way for the artists to establish their credibility as professionals and as an organization looking for public support of their vision.
