Herod offered the work in August 2018 before he moved to Italy. The title might reference several things. Paolo Uccello (1397-1475) was an Italian painter and mathematician known for developing methods to render 3-dimensional perspective in a 2-dimensional plane in a more realistic manner than previously accomplished. “L’uccello blu” (The Blue Bird) is the title of a play by Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949). It was made into a surreal silent film by Maurice Tourneur (1876-1961) in 1918.
