Aitina Fareed-Cooke (Get Fokus'd Productions)

Tales from the Porch is an ongoing multimedia project that amplifies stories and community voices including but not limited to minority-owned businesses, organizations, and emerging artists. In its second iteration, the project features seven community storytellers impacting the Buffalo NY community despite the pandemic and the 5/14 tragedy: Alexander Wright, Anthony Pierce, Gail V. Wells, Jamil Crews, JoAnna Rozier - Johnson, Kelly Diane Galloway, Stephen Forman Sr., and Poet Laureate Jillian Hanesworth. Through a combination of media arts, dance, movement, music, and poetry, these stories will continue to be shared through arts and community events. Fareed-Cooke notes, “The hope is that this work, when displayed to the public, will ignite thought, expand perspectives, and encourage our community to persevere.”
