"The sculptural nature of a teapot has always been an interesting challenge for me. Its many parts must work together to properly function. The handle must be placed correctly to be lifted easily, the spout must be angled upward for ease in pouring, and the lid must fit snugly. In the teapot in this exhibition, the decoration is formed of circles placed to repeat the know on the lid. It is wheel-thrown of porcelain and glazed with celadon, fired to cone 10 in reduction." -Sylvia Rosen
