The work Copse [Horizons] is part of the series At Your Leisure.
"At Your Leisure is a series of photographs shot in yards and parks. I am interested in public
manifestations of work and play, how we affect our private yards and public parks, and whether they are
used or left to disuse. What lies between duty and pleasure, between utility and leisure, and how are we
defined by it? All of the images were shot with a DSLR, through the viewfinder of an antique box camera.
This technique can result in a dirty, gritty, dreamlike appearance, with dramatic lens flares and refractions
- bringing into question the verity of experience and memory. Some of the images are panoramic, shot in
several segments and then composited digitally, as seen in Copse [Horizons]; some remain as individual
square images." -Jan Nagle
