Rena Reisman (1935-2014)

During  a  lifetime of making art, I have always found that my visual experiences and my feelings from within contribute to the creation of each work of art. Tree of Life Is a mixed media work combining painting, paper collage, and pen and ink drawing. The “Tree” has branches, like arms which reach for the heavens. It is covered with a delicate webbing, which embraces the trunk and branches, like a cocoon, offering a kind of protection.

I heard the echo of my mother’s voice saying  “ I love your work honey, but why don’t you paint flowers?”, and  the small vibrant flowers lovingly appeared within the branches. Tree of Life is a celebration of life and carries with it a message of hope and peace." -Rena Reisman
