Pink/Shutter Interface
What is being signified? What is “pink” and what is “shutter” and why are each so being suggested, by the pieces title, as existing within an “interface”? Is the “interface” the same for both the “pink” and the “shutter” or are there 2 interfaces? In each of the 4 film segments these are frames of pink coloration and series of adjacent tones which are related to pink (e.g. red, violet, lavender, orange) and which, in temporally suc -“flicker”- being to approach a pinkish haze; yet, each film also has other tones which contrast the pink aspect and balance it—only when on strap film proj. is overlapped with another (i/e/ “interfaced”) does. “pink” arise as a relatively continuous perceptual state – only exists in the interfaced area. What level(s) of signification are relevant in our calling these temporally-physically (-perceptually…
