Dear,
Everything got screwed up—my Telex from Montreux was supposed to be ready at 10 AM yesterday but didn’t come in until 11 AM and the elevators were misbehaving and all red lights and having traffic to airport and missed, by 5 min, my flight to Bucharest. It was as if there was a massive conspiracy against my journey to Tirgu Jiu—I was lucky to get any flights… craziest-most stupid airport I’ve ever experienced. So I took Air Tran to London, late in the evening. Stayed at an amusing hotel and this morning, went to service: took communion for the first time in 18 years (!) in small chapel of Methodist Central Hall Westminster—and there hopped over to Westminster Abbey and caught a terrific sermon by a guy about my age (attack on conventionality in religion). I’ll go see some Turners and then go on to Edinburgh (on time, for a change!)—so things are okay and next year I’ll go to Tirgu. Did I leave my little blue jacket with the lavender?? At the moment I’m ½ “elegant” and ½ disheveled—didn’t even shave!
Love and cheer,
Paul
