A two-projector piece, one image projected within the larger image. Focus on projectors’ gates so edges of images are sharp. Make one image smaller and situate it dead center on the larger image : either use a zoom lens to make one image smaller or move one projector about 10’ - 15’ in front of the other projector. There should be a thick “frame”/ border created.
An homage to the symmetry of Brancusi’s three greatest outdoor works, which are situated across the length of the small rural town of Tirgin Jiu, Romania…Brancusi was born in the nearby tiny hamlet of Hobita and was commissioned to erect the “Endless Column”, the “Gate of the Kiss” and the “Table of Silence.”
The screen within a screen will produce a very dynamic illusion of being Kinetic (which is caused by perceptual confusion.
A more complex screen set-up can be done if the filmmaker is present at the screening
