The Subject of the 4-screen film portion of the location is the “flicker” film SPECIMEN II, shot by rephotography, first “traveling” slowly in one direction, then shit, in superimposition, going in the opposite direction. Variations of this approach appear on each screen. There are slight changes in rates of passage (with occasional drifts to fast speeds) and this generates—this oppositional superimposition—a constant appearance of expansion and contraction of the color areas within each screen image. And, film frames from one screen seen to glide over and into adjacent screens; this occurs in opposite directions simultaneously.
The coexistence of the glasses crashing and the endless intersecting and traversing of the visual images is somewhat suspicious. This is location whose properties create for me the distorting feeling of forgetting a disturbing dream.
