wish i was in more lucid & optimistic state so that i could respond more fully-intelligently-am certainly not doing "my best" these days but find it anaccom-plishment that i feel stable + have been orderly in my living behavior-- more + more $ possibilities fall then + so am adjusting myself to the eventuality of "just" doing research, rather than "projects", for awhile  (want to study more math, computer programming + do some work in the psychic-hypnotic areas...hoping to find access to an EEG + develop higher skill in brain wave "control" + contemplative abilities...something ironic i've recently discovered: i've jsut met the only "sharits" outside my immediate family i've ever run across-- he's an older guy teaching theologic history at a nearby college + is involved in psychic reserach [studied with rhine,etc] -- so, the only 2 "sharits" i know of who have an education of sorts + who teach + whose interests are somewhat parallel happen to be, by chance it seems, in the same tiny village in ohio!)--small talk!

i am happy that you want to do something as financially questionable but absolutely forward-looking as the "projected-lite-space-gallery" --as you know, i have some ideas for such work ( but, they are so expensive to produce! not so hard, though to exhibit) -- i'll briefly describe + sketch my idea.

very simple to project--

-4 super 8 sound, loop cartridge projectors (counting on
                                       renting them)
- 1 square space about 20' x 20 '
- duplicate sets of approx 15-20 min long sound-color
                 cartridges ( as they do tend to damage in
                  repeated-or- constant projection)
- "imagery": all about the passage of film as a series
of frames and as a linear strip ( one will
  actually see individual frames, at times, "slipping"
by the projector gate----- and see both illusional
+ actual "scratches", at differend speeds, defining
the linear-strip aspect variously...too complex
to fully describe...an interaction, so to speak,
of speed changes ("speed lap dissolves", which at
times blur the frame definition + appear to produce
a "normal" flat screen + which at times define
film frame passage) and graduated tonality-color
changes....the sound structure is, hopefully,
an audio analogue of this module-to-continuous
(duality) aspect of cinema:

i think "best" space for wide variety of projects is simply a very large rectangle or square, whtie walls + celing + lot of floor-to-ceiling movable panels...versitility---equiptment: probably best to rent....i'm partial to idea of super 8 sound loop projectors (16mm is too expensive; outrageous, in fact) - for now, than you again, my very best wishes...Light!
