a. goldenrod – mostly dark yellow olive or chartreuse with dashes of brilliant cad. Yellow light –
b. the brilliant purple asters, less often pale bluish lavender or white –
(one of the beautiful combinations is massing of golden rod &
asters, surrounded by the pale pin tan of dead grass –
c. the colors muted, goldenrod “sour” YG olive, tiny white asters –
d. colors of rich OY milkweed, with pale milky YG pods –
e. “ of deep crimson & purple – crimson black berry bushes –
f. the dark sepia of dead Queen Anne’s lace”
