fun, talking crazy and of all sorts of things. I tried to persuade him to go to Greene to-morrow or to the picture shows to-night, be he refused to do either.
After supper, I decide I wanted to go someplace, so I went downstairs and got ready to go and get King to go down to the picture show.
“Where are you going?” asked Mother.
“Out to King’s” I said “to go to the picture-shows”.
“Let’s go out to the Richies” suggested Louise “and play cards.
“All right” I agreed.
“You call them up” she said.
So I called up. Merle answered and said sure to come out. So we went out. It was very cold; a wind was rushing from the north the moon, a silver sliver of curving light hangs cold and motionless in the starry skies, past which whitened clouds were rushing.
Out at the Richies we had lots of fun: we played cards and then Edna made some fudge of which we ate to our hearts content. After we were tired of cards, Louise, Merle and Edna played and sang on the piano while I worked at some puzzles.[i]
