73. June 27 -
Started cleaning out the pavilion, then decided to rip out the uncomfortable benched and build a new seat patterned after our lawn-benches. All day at this; repainted inside of pavilion.

Dream:
of going back to work at Birges. Heston was interviewing me; when it came to the matter of salary, he said something about my starting in at less, but I said I though I ought to get the same as I had before I quit. "All right" he replied, and turning to his assistant ("Pippinger) he added "put him down at 400 a month"
At work on bench. Redesigned it, after sitting awhile in the lawn-bench. And with success, too, somewhat to my own surprise. It was indeed, comfortable when done.
At bed-time B, said that she thought M ought to quit at Grant's, and go to the summer term at the Albright school. I am doubtful of any real benefit she could derive from what they have to offer, but we decide to let her try it tomorrow.
The sun set in a rich soft golden glow tonight, and
