Sold some lumber to George Miller (for box-ends) - and some to Kilcoyne.
Martha quit her job at Lorenzo's today, much to our relief.[i]
June 16 - (Tues.) -
Day spent in "redding up" the spot where the playhouse stood - Rindus spent the day mending the fence. He is a good conscientious worker -[ii]
June 19 - (Friday)
To country east of Elma, painting. Worked on Bullis Rd. - a group of young elms over-arching the road, looking west. The day started out cloudy and quiet, but towards noon a wind came up, scattered the clouds, and increased as the afternoon advanced, Painted until almost two o'clock. Then eastward almost to Cowlesville, where I parked by the pond, and at (sic) my lunch in the the shade of a maple. Afterwards I drove around, looking to find another subject, but without any luck. So I drove home around 5:30.[iii]
June 20 - (Sat)
More redding up in the yard - Working some in the garden.[iv]
June 25 - (Thurs.)
Late P.M. - B + Cathy + I to Buffalo to buy Cathie a dress - Meet Martha at her supper hour - and all of us to Waldorf Cafeteria.[v]
June 26 -
All day making four horses from "scrap" lumber.[vi]
