67. been studying with Blair + (CD) at the institute - and from his work, I could see that they have practically ruined him - giving him a superficial sophisticated language with no groundwork of any sort. I told him he must forget all that, and go to school. I could see my advice did not sit well - he wants to go and study with Walt Kuhn - I felt that the afternoon was wasted.[i]
May 18 - (Monday)
B + I to movie in afternoon (My Favorite Blond, and Sunday Punch.[ii]
May 19 -
Dark and rainy - cold - I am trying to get up the energy to remounted (sic) the Genesee St. picture - and the Three Trees. The best I can do is achieve a (CD) indecision.[iii]
May 20 -
Our anniversary. We "visit" and recall the early days of our marriage - and we concluded that our life together has been a good one. Since our love has grown steadily thru the years, nothing else seems of any account - and our hardships have not been serious.
Evening - to Mercury to see "Blossoms in the Dust" -[iv]
May 21 -
Dank rainy weather continues - Finally get to work on the remounting job.
Late morning - Grace Milsim in with a young couple. We like the young people, but (CD) - is impossible. I can hardly be decent to her.[v]
