C & M- McL- to whom earlier in the day I had given some plants for a border for their garden, came & asked me to tell them how to plant them. I was loath to leave the game, for it meant I should do most of the planting.

All day again on the picture, working on the tanks. Another struggle with the same discouraging feelings while I was working. I did not stop till after five, by which time I was mentally & physically exhausted. I hardly knew what I was eating for supper; and even a ball game afterwards did not ease the tension, for I tossed most of the night.
Last night, I put an 150 watt bulb at the back door to attract moths for Sally. We were rewarded soon by a beautiful Io moth, which we captured. Walking to the front to see if any were at the street light, and saw a large one flying around. After quite a scramble, I by sheer luck captured it- a large Hawk moth or sphinx - beautiful, with two-toned dusty gray upper wings, and maroon under-wings.(Later I determined it to be a Big Poplar Sphynx, male
Our success gave us the idea of taking the car and visiting all the street lights around; which we did, but it was too cool, not a moth was abroad.
A package with a letter from a Chidney, from some place near New York- it proved to be a scrap-booth deluxe, of some of my work, with my name on the front embossed. It was really gotten up with excellent care & taste. For it, I am to give
