B & I to Lorenzo’s for lunch, which was most enjoyable. Then some shopping which exhausted us both.
March 3, 1938 Thursday-
This morning I had to take out the Steubenville picture again & make a couple minor changes. Then I put it away for good. A dawdling day in the studio, reading up some. Finally, in the latter part of the afternoon, I got out my notes and studies for the Seneca St. House, and put the painting on the easel. All at once it looked good, and I felt I could work on it; I made some changes at once with charcoal. It is mounted on wood and considerably warped. I planned to make a frame for it & clamp it down flat. Later I plan to remount it.
