A.M. To Buffalo to help Bertha buy dresses.
P.M. With Catherine to a little tributary of Cazenovia Creek for more “geology” (Septaria)stones. A heavy rain last night, and tho the sun was beginning now to break thru, the grass & bushes were still dripping. A pleasant excursion down the flat bottomed ravine. We found several huge stones all too large to lift, but only three small ones. After reaching the Cazenovia, we ascended the hill and came back thru the woods. In an open field we picked a bouquet of yellow and orange hawkweed & white daisies. Afterwards, we drove over Dan’s Rd, Northrup & Milestrip and Baker T.H. where I found a wide-spreading elm that Mr. Schweirkart had told one of.

This season with its unusually warm weather, and heavy rains is lush. There is a feeling of exuberant growth, of health and abundance.

A.M. Finished work on water color I started yesterday - a view looking past the corner of the studio to McLeod’s. My first outdoor sketch in 7 or 8 weeks. Life seems worth living again.
