When I come home I sit down and make a small pencil sketch of my picture which seems to me to solve all difficulties.
Bertha and Martha asleep in the play-room. I feel selfish to go up to a decent bed and leave them there-
Got the pictures of the children this afternoon. They were all good - especially the ones in the snow and with the long dresses on.
Sat. March 5 –
P.M. toBuffaloto Bredemiers to get frame. He wants me to send samples to Rehn. I tell him about first frame he hade tarnishing. Said he would come out Sunday to get it.
From there to Market – buy lima beans, mushrooms and rhubarb. A beautiful springlike day.
Sun. Mar. 6
A gray misty day. Bredemeier out a little before11:30.
About noona faint spit of snow. Increases a little almost turns to rain, then gets colder. We have roast chicken, and while we eat, the snow gets thicker. It is cosy inside, and seems like Thanksgiving. As it gets darker and darker and snows heavier, we listen to Philharmonic concert.
Mon. Mar. 7
A blizzard with high wind all day – up to P.O. in morning – when I get to corner the full force of the gale strikes me – I find it hard to breathe.
Tues. Mar. 8
Storms clearing somewhat – P.M. toBuffaloto Bredemeier – Find Sch. And his co-workers there – Discuss frames with B – order one with mat – downtown buy magazine for Bertha – get3 o’clockbus – starts snowing again.
Evening Bertha and I go over our expense accounts and grow discouraged and make new resolutions.
Very cold outside – all windows white.
