Are in all, people who gape enviously at the automobiles, who have silly love affairs, and who share their ears after gossip – we can only despise those who have no sympathy for other people-

To be alive – to be a member of the human race – to belong to a people that has passion – joys & sorrows and aspirations – What a privilege![ii]

On the train – the hot white sultry morning – sticky cindery coaches – motley crowd of people with various methods of over-coming boredom – the train passes a long line of faded red freight cars and a lurid pink reflection lights up the faces of people – the car sends up the harsh monotonous clackity-clackity rhythm of the wheels,[iii]
