The far away pale December sun is barely visible at noon. There is a cold quietness; light comes mainly from the ground – the trees, so harshly outlined in mornings bitter cold light are now softened – at midafternoon, snow commences to fall – at dusk the air is full of leisurely dropping flakes –

A buoyant winter day –
Big masses of ragged clouds float across vivid emerald and cerulian(sic) skies the sun fills the air with blindness; on sunny sides of houses there is a busy dripping of icicles - -
At dusk, snow falls in the busy street; hustling figures past yellow windows, a sleighbell’s jingle strikes the ear -
