A long smooth bank of clouds extended from a point in the west to the northeast. In the west its lower part was a bright brick-red which blended wonderfully into the grey. Beyond it to the south the sky was covered with broken clouds, some of which were a vivid orange; thru one small opening the sky showed a metallic cold pale blue, like ice. The bright red color extended all along the horizon far to the northeast. This color faded quickly.(HT)Then came the “second” sunset.
