during an idle hour, with the help of Mr. Tracy, who works there and who was Louise’s caller the other night.
After everyone had left I got busy and made a lot of birds out of paper and stationed them around on the water. When discovered sometime later they were dubbed sea-gulls.
In the evening Bill came over and after we had talked and laughed awhile we all went down to Aunt Em’s for Frances who had taken supper there.
Monday August 25, 1913
September weather has come. It is characterized by cold clear nights; wet shivering mornings, cloudless deep blue skies, and a hot bright sun. Sometimes a wind will come a blowing, but, while delightful, it is not essential. September mornings are synonymous with invigoration.
For breakfast this morning I had mushrooms on toast. In yesterdays entry I des-
