menced to call and they abounded in a grove we had to pass thru. Once I heard a sound of some bird or animal not unlike the whine of a puppy in distress.
Owing to the coolness of the night we did not become nearly so tired as on former trips. When we arrived home I went over to Bill’s. He had said he would go after mushrooms tomorrow morning and I wanted to tell him to come around early. His mother only was there and she said Bill had gone down-town with Waldo. I stayed few moments and talked with Mrs. Kirst. She is planning to go to Cleveland this winter to live. She was going to last winter but lost her courage; she seems determined this time and has made plans to get a house with Slacks who moved to Cleveland the other day.
After I came back home I took a fine hot bath and went to bed satisfied with the days outing.
