most part we sat around and laughed to our hearts content. Towards the middle of the afternoon Frances went upstairs to sleep. Louise and Ephie disappeared also and reappeared later, dressed, as they informed us like the Youngstown girls do, hats fastened on by a velvet band under the chin, another velvet band around the wrist and a wide gorgeous ribbon wrapped around the waist. Of course we fellows had to do something then. Fred and I beat it upstairs. And were followed by Louise, Ephie and Joe. I went into my room while they went into Frances’ room. Jim was getting ready to go down town; and so I got him to give me his pants he had on, altho he repeatedly declared that “some people raised crazy children”.
