Mother was getting ready to go for an automobile trip with Mary Aunt Em and Uncle Sam to Petersburg to visit Uncle Eph and Aunt Sue. This meant not only dressing and such, but also, in Mothers case, to prepare our dinner as much as possible and give Frances and Louise last instructions as to where to find different things. I was upstairs painting the picture I was doing for Reynard. Soon after the automobile came along and after many goodbyes Mother left.
