Among the different subjects the first year were Free hand Perspective (Mon morning) Design (Monday & Friday afternoon) Cast (-charcoal drawing from antique casts) Tuesday & Thursday mornings and all day Wednesday. Scientific perspective Tuesday afternoon; Modelling (Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Anatomy (one hour Tuesday afternoon. Illustration,one hour Wednesday afternoon. History of Art (Thursday afternoon).
Design was my especial field. It was the one thing in which I excelled and which was the solace for some of my disappointments in the other classes. Of course I had them. Especially in the Antique class. The first month everyone, even the instructors, praised my work in that class.
