Coming out of the office from work this noon, I saw that we were to pay the penalty for the wonderful sunrise for
“Evening red, and morning grey,
Starts the travelers on his way,
But evening grey and morning red,
Brings down rain upon his head.”
It has not rained yet but, the sun already has disappeared a thick bank of mists and a silence has fallen upon the earth that bodes ill.
The snow was melting, and water running everywhere, yet I decided to go for a walk after dinner. I decided I would take an entirely different course from any I had yet followed, but after I had gotten ready to go, I hesitate, not knowing where to go. I finally decided to start out at least, and let chance direct my course.
