I have before described his cry when he is disturbed – a short whistle followed by “Ssvee Isvee Isvee”, sometimes sounding quite like a chick-a-dee and again a little like a cat bird. A short distance past the acorn trees as I was walking along listening to many birds, I heard an odd chattering noise in the hollow, flowed by a sound of scuffling and then silence.
