Monday April 3, 1911.
This has been a quiet day outdoors. All day as the mists became thicker, the air became warmer, and think Spring is coming back. Once in the afternoon a fine rain began to fall but in the evening the misty clouds vanished and the thin crescent moon hung white in the starry sky.
Dawn at the shop it had been a strenuous day. When we first went down, we were so cold that we merely stamped around and went up to a gas stove to get warmer. Soon we took sides and fought over the circulars, Bill had two of the girls on his side, while I had one of the girls, King and Scullion on my side. For awhile Bill a I assailed each with sponges, but later he and Scullion took up the battle) and furiously over circulars.
At noon I went around to some of the offices where I had received promises for tickets, but I could find no one in. At dinner-time Joe gave me money for four tickets, that he had sold. At noon too, the matter of Prudence’s hat-pin and gloves came up.
Down at work Myra Gibbs said that Prudence was furious because someone had stolen her things, so I determined
