know if I would be at home. I said I would and so they came up and spent the evening. Everyone else but Fred, who was sick, went to the show. Before they had gone, King came and wanted me to go, but after trying to persuade my callers to go and failing, I let Waldo go without me. It was hard to let Waldo know I would go if I could and my two visitors that I wouldn’t go at all.
Saturday April 1, 1911
The first of April! April the month of showers is here. To-day has been a day of frozen showers, for snow storms and sunshine passed by in turn all day long. The air was not very cold and was very deliciously fresh. This morning as all other mornings, started out with fair promises of clear weather. The sunshine was very bright and comforting and the sky was a deep blue. But as the day went on, clouds began to collect, and all afternoon occasional hard storms have come down. Will it never be Spring?
The first of April! To-day is Bill’s birthday but we didn’t make any event of it except that, when he came over to go to work this morning, we threatened to thrash him.
The first of April! April Fool! To-day is April Fool Day, or rather All Fool’s Day, which includes everybody,
