Everyone was in the act of admiring it, when suddenly I woke up to find I was smearing India ink in the wrong place!
Friday March 31, 1911.
The last day of March – how quickly this month has gone! And it has been a real March, and a blustery March, altho there have been a few nice warm days. It is hard to tell whether the lion or the lamb has been the victor to-day, it has been very cold and raw, but there has been no wind and harmless white and grey clouds have sailed all day across the blue, while the sun melted all the snow. As the sun went down in yellow and orange, the last clouds disappeared and now the stars are shining in an unmarred expanse of deep black blue.
