If yesterday was dull, in respect to weather, what was to-day? Early in the morning, the sky was covered with dull grey clouds, and air was warmer and very still. Presently fine wet snow began to come slowly down from the southeast, there was no wind; everything was very quiet. Gradually the snow became thicker and all day it has come steadily down. As it came down; some of it melted and made everything sloppy slushy and disagreeable. Trees and buildings are dripping water, the air is dead and smoky, while still comes that steady snow, ever silently falling, one by one. However disagreeable it is, there is still something peaceful and quieting in the way the white snow comes steadily down, softly and quietly down to to the white earth; in the look of darky grey building with their white tops, and in the silence in the air.
That notice on the other side of this page caused good deal of excitement and ill will among the valiant Kaballers. Bill and Day are most interested. Bill wants to know out of mere curiosity, who put it in, while Day is sore because his name was put in too. He said that he didn’t want his name put in about he was going to give a supper, or would give one
