To-day is a mixture of clouds, sunshine and blue sky, all accompanied by a cool wind from the north west, the air is intensely clear. I saw two new kinds of birds today. One was a bird that looked very much like a barn-swallow, but they don’t come until May, it was circling around in the air now flapping its wings and now floating and gliding on the breeze; presently he circled away out of sight. The other kind was flying around in an odd manner, there were five of them, away out in the sky; - flew some distance ahead of the other four, who flew along in a straight line after their leader, never changing there order. ever circling around in the air? now disappearing into the clouds again reappearing always in a straight line.
