brought down the wrath of the other three on his head. But it was great fun. Once when I was steering, I could turn right at the bottom and we run in the curbstone. It bumped the other three a lot but I escaped. Gradually the evening wore away; I suggested going home but the others persuaded me to stay for a few more rides. On the last of these, Smith was steersman; as we were going down I remarked;
“Well say, this ain’t any sport if we can’t have an accident. Won’t some-one sacrifice a leg to our pleasure?”
Scathing replies were accorded me, but at the bottom, Smith turned too quickly: over we rolled, gasping and laughing, all of us covered with snow from head to foot. Then they blamed it on me for my remark!
Friday Dec. 16 1910.
To-day was off-day. Little has been doing. This afternoon we had rhetoricals, in which Bill starred to a great extent. I suppose I will be a next victim.
After school, Bill + Smith wanted me to go sledding but as I had work to-morrow, I declined.
