The words show the force of feeling
The danger of the milkman on account of which
he makes himself scarce.
But his milk is not alone the health officer’s sway
It is palmed on the people every day
It is watered every morning
And it doth appear most like to milk when a
little lime is added to the solution!
Eplogue:
How far the milk doth fly when a good cow
kicketh the bucket!
So goes a man when he gets in the way!
Then this noon, as planned, we waited to call down Day. But what to our disappointment did he do but stay in: We let Smith in on the joke and we walked slowly up High St., hoping he would soon come. But I was forced to leave them at Rose street without having seen the scoundrel. Just as I turned in on our porch, I saw him coming running up the street! I was hungry for dinner and didn’t wait.
On the way to school after dinner, Bill told me about it. They had met Day after I left them.
