To-day is a dull one. Nothing to do but study and work. Down at the Store there is all bustle preparing for the opening; I am putting up moldings, the girls Ora Vincent and Ada Holmes are cleaning drawers and Mr. Fisher, Miss Dr. Walker + Miss McMillan are fighting over a calendar booth.
At noon we tried to stir up some excitement by having a snow-ball fight with some freshmen. We were ahead and pretended to see someone we wanted to hit in a convenient side yard. With shouting and throwing, we rushed in, darted around that house and around the next one, lying in wait on the opposite side-yard. The snow was melting and packed well and we each made two snow-balls. As they came along we pounced upon them with wild yells and the battle begun. But they were game. In fact, they were so game that the battle was a draw – really in their favor for they were smaller than we; but then, in a battle of this kind, neither side has much chance of winning.
This evening when I came to study up for a History Test for tomorrow, I found that I had forgotten to bring home my collateral. I suppose I’ll be rushed with studying to-morrow.
