her and make some calendars she would buy the material for a cushion for me to give Bill as a Christmas present, to which I readily agreed. This morning I cut out the letters – we were making a Kabal cushion – out of white felt, which we were going to put on brown burlap.
Sunday is a day on which I have little inclination to do anything and so after making the letters, I sat around looking at the Sunday papers. After dinner we pasted the letters on, after which I studied my German for tomorrow. This done, I drew two letters for Mrs. Fithian, an order which Frances had got for me.
After supper, Frances and I desided that fresh air was what we needed, and we proceeded to get some. It was raining when we went out, but we went anyway, armed with umbrella. When we had walked out High St. almost as far as Union, Frances made the discovery that her good coat was getting very wet, and as it was raining harder, we retreated homeward, ready for the cozy inside.
