     It took us about a half hour to dig the hole, stretch the wire etc. We were immaterially aided by lookers-on in the form of advice.  Tit-for-tat you know.  When that was done we paused to watch the game, which had been in progress for some time now.  In all my life and never saw such a smeary slimy sloppy field - except this afternoon.  The contest really should have been in favor of the side
