Soon we espied King gingerly picking his way down the rain-soaked pavement. We yelled at him, whereupon he came hurrying over and began to chide us about going out the ball-park. He was lucky - he hadn’t been invited to the private party – (post hole digging a feature). For some we stood there talking about how rotten the weather was and how nice it would be to stretch wire. Then Zufall meandered along, he too very much out of sorts with the presiding elements. I suppose he could tell from our countenances that we weren’t aching to get to work, and so he said to postpone it until morning. Not that I think he did that on our account - oh no - I don’t imagine
