groans to add to the music. Not to be outdone by these two dogs, the dog to the Westward chimed in in his contralto parks and Woodruff’s puny little fox terrier added his tenor yelps.
Choking with laughter, Bill and I ran across the road and down towards Woodruff. But our laughter was checked by the sound of a door slamming in Richard’s barn and the dog’s barks became plainer and nearer! We now run in good earnest, but no dog pursued. All four dogs kept up their music until we were down on Tenth St again.
