first time I saw was Halloween, when King, Day + I were up in the bathroom after masquerading downtown.
     He came a rushing in, fluttering around like a butterfly trying to decide which clover to feed upon.  His general actions impressed upon me that he was a downright fool!  And he lived up to it that night.  Frances told us afterwards.  One of his gems of conversation was “Whenever I see an upstart girl, I always say to myself: I am a man, go your way, you are nothing but a girl.”  And another was I am a man tested and tried - gee I wonder where he was tried.
     Frances found a little piece in a newspaper which read something like this: ‘Man never climbs so high but that he finds a woman there’
