put the pennant and would he care if we’d go up and get it?  We received the crushing reply that Anna Mary Taylor (she is the daughter of his deceased partner) had put it up there and we’d have to have her permission to get it down!  We walked off intending to come back in a few moments, but he went back in his office to attend to some matter or other.
