chipped in and got a box of chocolates. The presenting of this consumed all the time remaining before dinner and an hour or so after. First we inquired at the Colonial Hotel if she stayed there, and received the reply that she had a private boarding-place, but took meals at Lape’s Restaurant. Thither we proceeded, but found only the manager, who refused to inform us of her boarding place but said that he would give her the box of candy. Not willing to trust it to him, we desisted and decided to give it to her before her ascension in the afternoon.
The first thing in the afternoon, we proceeded the the aerial grounds but found no one. We then went to see the parade which
